9/22/2014

I am sure you knew that George Lopez, Shakira or Sofia Vergara are Hispanic but did you know that Pitbull’s real name is Armando Christian Pérez or that Bruno Mars has Puerto Rican roots? A long list of celebrities, scientists, authors, journalist, etc. can proudly say that they have Latino background, and their contribution the American culture is commendable.

National Hispanic Heritage Month started on September 15th and it is celebrated every year to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and a chance to teach the world about group's heritage and culture. Please visit the PBS website for a “collection of groundbreaking documentaries and insightful profiles, highlighting the stories, people, music and issues that explore Latinos in America”.
